Van Vibhag Thane (Forest Department – Mahaforest Thane) has officially announced a new recruitment drive to fill 14 vacant posts on a contractual basis.

The available positions are:
Wildlife Biologist, Architect, Legal Advisor, Graphic Designer, Livelihood Expert, and Rapid Rescue Team Member.

Educational Qualification (शैक्षणिक पात्रता)

• Wildlife Biologist: Master’s degree in a science discipline with at least 60% marks. Must have knowledge of camera trapping, GIS/GPS mapping, and statistical analysis. Should be well-versed with wildlife, sanctuaries, and related forest and wildlife laws/rules. Must have strong communication skills and good command over English, Marathi, and Hindi. Computer skills are mandatory. (Candidates with prior experience as Wildlife Biologist will be given preference and must submit an experience certificate.)
• Architect: B.Arch degree with at least 60% marks. (Candidates with a Master’s degree in Architecture or Landscape Architecture will be preferred.) Must be skilled in software like AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Revit. Should have knowledge about wildlife, sanctuaries, and forest/wildlife laws. Must have strong communication skills and fluency in English, Marathi, and Hindi. (Experience in the wildlife sector as an Architect will be preferred.)
• Legal Advisor: Law degree with at least 60% marks. Should have knowledge of wildlife, sanctuaries, and related forest/wildlife laws. (Experience is mandatory.)
• Graphic Designer: Degree in Graphic Design (B.Des, BFA) with minimum 60% marks. Should have thorough knowledge about wildlife, sanctuaries, and various development plans/projects of the forest department. Must be proficient in graphic design tools like Adobe Photoshop, AutoCAD, Illustrator, and InDesign. Must have good communication skills and knowledge of English, Marathi, and Hindi. (Experience as a Graphic Designer will be preferred.)
• Livelihood Expert: Master’s degree in a science discipline with at least 60% marks. (Preference will be given to candidates with specializations in Rural Development, Sociology, Forestry, Botany, Zoology, or Environmental Science.) Should know about wildlife, sanctuaries, and forest/wildlife laws. Should be aware of government schemes such as CAMPA, Tribal Development, CSR projects, and Forest Rights Act. Must have strong communication skills and fluency in English, Marathi, and Hindi. (Experience as a Livelihood Expert will be preferred.)
• Rapid Rescue Team Member: Must have passed 10th standard. (Preference will be given to experienced candidates.)
